LVPEF

low voltage pulsed electric fields

is a special form of PEMF that used for the inactivation of microbes.

Unlike the PEMF ( Pulsed Electro Magnetic Field ) used in the food industry, any PEF ( Pulsed Electric Field ) that might be applied to the human body or in animals, must be at a lower voltage and current levels that is inherently safe for use. This is called LVPEF ( Low Voltage Pulsed Electric Field ).

This means that, according to studies, the pulses must be applied for longer periods of time. For example, while a single 40 kV pulse might destroy all undesireable organisms in a volume of liquid, since this is not a possibility for human safety considerations, a 10 volt pulse might need to be applied many thousands oe even millions of times to achieve the same or similar results.
