LVPEF

low voltage pulsed electric fields

is a special form of PEMF that used for the inactivation of microbes.

Unlike the PEMF used in the food industry, any PEF that might be applied to the human body or in animals, must be at a lower voltage and current levels that is inherently safe for use.

This means that, according to studies, the pulses must be applied for longer periods of time. For example, while a single 40 kV pulse might destroy all undesireable organisms in a volume of liquid, since this is not a possibility for human safety considerations, a 10 volt pulse might need to be applied many thousands oe even millions of times to achieve the same or similar results.
